A very fine Empire gilt bronze mounted mahogany jardinière with lead liner, the body with alternate corn-husk and wreath mounts above a single turned support headed by a stiff-leaf mount and terminating in a mounted palmetted band and spreading circular foot on a concave-sided squared plinth with palmetted mounts to the angles on a conformingly shaped base with rounded angles, on turned bun feet Paris, date circa 1810-15 Height 87 cm, diameter of the rim 54.5 cm. |
