French barograph by Frères c. 1880 Display: revolving brass drum covered with preprinted paper with air pressure and time scales, the ink recorder writing the air pressure during a week. Movement: Brass circular plates. Spring-driven, cylinder escapement on platform with regulator accessible through hole with shutter. Aneroid metal bellows operating the recorder with ink pen via a lever system. Duration: one week Case: glazed ormolu case, with removable top on moulded base. Signed and numbered RF (for Richard Frères), Paris, 55954.
