A French Mystery Clock, draped figure of nymph holding a swinging clock, circa 1890.

Stunning mystery clock dating late 19th century. This beautiful lady is patinated spelter on a dark circular stand. The clockwork is housed in a globe with visual escapement. The globe functions as pendulum. The globe is suspended on three gilt metal chains with suspension spring and is revolving around an imaginary vertical line. Eight day movement. Very attracted and fascinating visual concept of this women figure with mysterious rotating globe/clock.
Total height 67 cm. Length pendulum 64 cm.
In the horological world, the name A.R. Guilmet is associated with this so-called 'mystery' clocks.
