A French gilt brass repeating alarm carriage clock with unusual blue enamel dials, circa 1890.
5.5-cm blue enamel chapter ring with gilt Arabic numerals and gilt hands in a matted gilt mask, blue enamel alarm subsidiary below, spring driven 8-day movement with platform ratchet tooth lever escapement, rack half hour striking with repeat and alarm both on a gong, unusual ‘Anglaise’ case surmounted by a turned handle, molded top supported by fluted columns with Corinthian capitals, glass panels to all sides, elaborate molded base on flat feet.
