A splendid pair of Louis XVI gilt bronze three-light candelabra chased overall with beaded panels and stiff-leaf ornament, each with a central reversible covered vase with ring handles which when inverted forms a third candle holder, on a circular shaft issuing two beaded S-scrolled branches terminating in vase-shaped nozzles with circular drip-pans each with stiff-leaf bands and beaded borders, the part-fluted baluster stem chased with beaded panelled sections on a spreading stepped circular foot fitted with four raised fluted tapering panels
Paris, dated circa 1785
Height 42 cm, width 32.5 cm, diameter of base 14.5 cm.
