Introduction of catalogues.

Richard Redding.  Introduction to the limited edition books.

Since 1992 we have published seven limited edition books containing full colour illustrations and expertly documented articles on the many superb quality works of art acquired and subsequently sold by Richard Redding Antiques Ltd.
2008 saw the publication of a sumptuous edition to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Richard Redding Antiques Ltd, which was followed more recently by the launch of yet another great hardback book, as before featuring full colour plates as well as additional detailed illustrations of over 134 great quality items. Each volume contains detailed information and catalogue entries on every work, stylistic comparisons, as well as biographies on individual makers.
All our limited edition copies are filled with a selection of the best fine and decorative arts generally dating from the seventeenth up until the early twentieth century and include a broad range of items from clocks, silver, bronzes, ceramics and furniture to paintings, sculptures, garden furnishings, glass and an array of objets d'art. Over the years we have broadened our range of stock and thus in addition to European arts and antiques we have recently acquired a number of Near and Far Eastern works as well those originating from Russian and America.
Over the years the gallery has had the pleasure of presenting copies of these books to genuine collectors who share our passion for truly great works of art. The response has been overwhelming since these publications are far more than simple gallery catalogues but are regarded as serious art historical references. While we pride ourselves in the quality of our books there is no doubt that there is no better way to enjoy the objects themselves than by seeing them and handling them in person. We therefore extend a warm welcome to all visitors to our gallery in the heart of Zurich.

RICHARD REDDING 30TH ANNIVERSARY

We are extremely proud to announce the recent launch of a new limited edition book for 2008 (30th anniversary) containing full colour illustrations of many truly great items that have passed through the gallery during the past two years. Featured among the pages of this hardback, gilt-edged, suede covered publication are a host of new discoveries, new biographies and new delights to add to the previous series of six prized volumes 1992-2004, 2007.
In an endeavour to broaden our horizons the present volume includes a number of extremely beautiful Oriental pieces, Russian and American works in addition to a wide variety of European art and antiques.
As before our selection features furniture, clocks, silver, bronzes, ceramics and glass as well as sculpture and paintings made by some of history's greatest masters dating from the seventeenth to early twentieth centuries.
Those who are familiar with the gallery know that we continually try to improve our stock as well as our publications. Therefore our new book includes a large number of additional illustrations to show for instance a beautifully engraved clock backplate or a detail of some exquisitely crafted lacquer or marquetry decoration. There is also a short illustrated article on restoration in addition to fully catalogued, expertly researched documentation on each and every item.
